SE Bronco Race BMX Bike Aqua Blue 20"

SE Bronco Race BMX Bike Aqua Blue 20
This is a nice 20" bike. I like that the rear wheel is freewheel (no coaster brake), because I like to pedal backwards sometimes while going slow. I am happy with the purchase.

I am also very happy with the seller (ProBoardshop) since the bike came very quickly and because they were willing to ship it to my PO Box by Priority mail.

One note, if an adult is planning on riding this bike then I suggest getting a different (bigger) bike seat, which is pretty easy since the seats themselves seem to be pretty universal (I kept the original seat post and just replaced the seat only).

I didn't really see any instructions to put the bike together, though it does come with a manual, but then I think they do recommend that it be put together at an authorized dealer, but that said, I put the bike together myself. The difficult parts are already done, I just had to put on the pedals, the front wheel, put on and adjust the handlebars and align them with the front fork, and attach the brake cable to the handle (the brake is already installed and the cable is ran), put on the reflectors and chainguard, and put on and adjust the seatpost and seat, I think that was about it at least as I remember now. The tools I remember using are metric allen wrenches, metric wrenches, adjustable wrenches (crescent wrenches), wire cutters to cut the packaging zip ties (scissors would work fine), and a phillips screwdriver.

    Victory Vision Bike (Red/White, 700C X 20-Inch)
I was skeptical at first when contemplating about buying this bike, I had seen a lot of reviews on other sites about the bike having problems with wheels and breaks.
When I received my bike, it came well sealed but I could immediately hear items being loose inside. I finally opened it up and the box with the skewers and other goodies was extremely damaged and the skewers were missing, also the screw that goes in the stem connecting the gear shifters to it.
Other than that everything came well packaged, no scratches or dents. The bike was perfect. I took it to my local bike shop to get it assembled correctly, when I first rid it, the seat would come loose and was kind of uncomfortable but I quickly changed the seat to one of my previous bikes' seat.
The bike itself is fantastic, I am no pro rider but for the price this bike can't be beat. It's way faster than the bike I owned before but it makes a weird noise when I pedal.
I can see I am way faster and the funny thing is, I had a 500 dollar bike and it isn't as fast as this one, a little heavier than I expected but not really a big deal.
Love the bike and recommend it to anyone who has the money and wants a pretty good bike for the price.

Kawasaki KDX1 26-Inch Dual Suspension Mountain Bike

Kawasaki KDX1 26-Inch Dual Suspension Mountain Bike
I purchased the KDX2, the aluminum model, from Amazon. Delivery was quick and the box had all of the parts. With these Kawasaki bikes (the name is licensed; Kawasaki Motor Company has nothing to do with these bikes) you are getting what you pay for, if you paid less than $200 like me.

Like other buyers, I experienced an anoying problem with the bottom bracket. The left (non-drive) crank arm kept falling off. After less than 5 minutes of pedaling the nut would unscrew itself and the crank would begin to wobble and then come completely unsecured. The cause of this problem likely is that the bottom bracket spindle was installed wrong at the factory or the part is just a cheaply made component and not reliable. And that's the story of the KDX2, the "factory/manufacturer" simply used the cheapest parts supplier they could find in China. I've discovered that some of the parts on the Kawasaki bikes are either non-standard or obsolete. That means that when it comes time to get replacements for worn parts you might have compatibility problems. If you're experienced with the mechanics of a bicycle and essentially know your way aroud a bike, then upgrading the bike might not be a big challenge. Just think of it as a bare frame that you want to put your own unique style on, sorta like that MTV show "Pimp My Ride."

I've already upgraded the crankset, handlebar, stem, saddle, seatpost and headset with better quality name brand parts. But then I discovered the bottom bracket problem, so now I've got to replace that with a standard and name brand version. Down the road I'll get a new wheelset because all-aluminum rims and Shimano freehubs in the wheels are the contemporary standard now. And even still, the overall cost will be a lot less than if I had purchased an authentic entry-level mountain bike (about 400 bucks). The bottom line is, the KDX2 aluminum frame is decent(good welds, wide and sturdy tubes) but the stock components are of low quality. By the way, the warranty is one year but customer service is slow.

Schwinn Ridge AL Womens Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)
You cannot beat this bicycle for the price. It is actually fabricated in the same overseas factories that Giant builds their frames. It also is the same as the entry-level Chinese-imported Trek frame.

As for Mrs. Roberts and her problems......hate to say it, but each and every problem/symptom you described is a symptom/problem indicating a poor assembly and adjustment. You should have taken the bike(s) to a professional bicycle shop and had the mechanic there do a tune-up on your bike....all those problems would and could have been avoided completely. Chain shifting problems, chain-drop and jamming, wheel loose....all adjustment and assembley problems.

Why do I say this? I was a bike mechanic for approx. 7 years and saw many, many bicycles bought from mass-market merchandisers and over the internet with the same exact problems after the poor or unskilled assembly. Even the bikes the "real" bike shops get have to be assembled and adjusted before they are sold. So, please don't blame the bicycle as being defective, blame the root cause.....the poor assembly and unskilled adjustment of the bicycles.

    Mongoose XR200 Bike (26-Inch, Red)

    Mongoose XR200 Bike (26-Inch, Red)
I bought the XR200 last year and I've put a few dozen miles on the bike, through moderately rough terrain and it's held up well. The rear suspension was a bit of overkill for me as I'm not riding rugged downhill slopes (yet) but I'd rather have it & not need it now than need it & not have it later. I like that the rear suspension's rigidity can be easily adjusted with the turn of a steel ring, that's prevented from slipping by another ring that sits behind it. I've never owned a bike with a disc brake so I find that pretty cool (the XR200 shown here has a front caliper brake however). I bought the bike in white resulting in more noticeable scratches, dings, dents & dirt but overall it's a good-looking bicycle. The gear shift is built into the grips, I've accidentally shifted while riding but that's hardly a design flaw, I just need to get accustomed to the bike. My only complaint is cosmetic, the welds aren't clean, they appear sloppy but I managed to carefully clean them up w/ a rotary tool & grinding stone then repainted the areas. Time will tell if this bike is as durable as my old-school freestyle Mongooses (Mongeese?)...lol

Mintcraft 12632 Mens Aluminum Beach Cruiser
Got the bike and it was 85 percent assembled all except for handlebar, pedals and one of the wheels and the fenders. Nice and light bike for a cruiser, love not worrying about gears. Bike is great except for one point. The fenders, preferably the front one cannot take any bumps as mine came loose from the rivets. Besides that the rest of the bike is solid. I think the bike should be a little cheaper as it needs brackets for the fenders to be sturdy enough. If u see one on sale grab it.

I own the Schwinn Miramar Women's Comfort Bike. I have never been a huge fan of riding bikes until this summer. My friend really got me into it, and it was not until after my purchase of this bike that I really began to appreciate how wonderful it really can be. I have never liked riding bike for the fact your seat is so uncomfortable. That is why I chose to go with something that was comfortable and still rid able for long distances. When I jump off my new bike I have no problems what so ever. I am so happy with my purchase that I have began to ride my bike at least three to four times a week. It goes to show that spending a little extra for comfort can really go a long ways.

Huffy Men's ATB Rival Bike (Charcoal Grey, 26-Inch)

Huffy Mens ATB Rival Bike (Charcoal Grey, 26-Inch)
I purchased 2 of these bikes for my wife and I based on the price. I found "you get what you pay for". The first two arrived in good condition, after assembly my wife's bike wouldn't change gears and the twist grips became stripped and fell apart. The front brakes were difficult to get into and stay in adjustment. We returned it for replacement. In the meantime (about 2 days) my shifters went out of adjustment and wouldn't change gears, the twist gear changer for the front derailleur stopped working. I returned the second bike. By now my wife's second bike arrived, the box looked like it had been dropped from a tall building then dragged behind the delivery truck. The box was literally held together with shipping tape, and it was torn open to expose that the bikes neck was bent(I can't imagine the force needed to cause this steel to bend). If I had gotten to the door before UPS rang my bell and ran away I never would have accepted this package. I returned this bike also. Finally we decided to give up and just ask for a refund. Amazon couldn't have been more helpful, we received a refund in a very short time. Thanks Amazon for making a difficult and frustrating situation pleasant in the end. If you want a cheap bike and you have the skill and the time to do all your own adjustments daily then this is the bike for you, otherwise defiantly upgrade. This is not a good bike at a low price but a cheap bike at a cheap price. I hope the other buyers who gave this bike a good rating have better luck than I did.

Awesome !! Best Item I ever bought online !!!!!!!!!!!!
This Bike is NOT your average Walmart Bike. The shipping Gods watched over this one! It's what a new car looks like when it first arrives to the dealer, then they prep it. You MUST prep the handle bars and neck and seat with sandpaper so they dont slip, and follow the schmatic for the neck bolts.
( Qualified mechanic ) is printed on the box for a reason! At 46 years old, I have been around all kind of bikes and also have wrecked many as a kid to know and understand what it takes to build them, so my son now is educated as well how to prep and maintain one.
If done right, this is a bike ready to race out of the box !! My son still has a ear to ear smile on!! Sweet lines and we cant stop staring at it.
Well Done Fellas!!!!!!!!!! PS. If you can't put it together, take it to a bike shop!! Don't F-it up !!

Schwinn Southport Men's Cruiser Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Schwinn Southport Mens Cruiser Bike (26-Inch Wheels)
The bike needed some work right out of the box. The front wheel wobbled badly and made the brake pads rub. I spend a few minutes tuning up the spokes and got the wheel true. The seat that came with the bike seemed not to be the correct one. I had to mount the seat on the very rear of the seat bracket to get it somewhat level. The chain was not properly threaded through the rear derailer. It was rubbing across the metal bracket and not threaded through the gears. I bent the bracket back and threaded the chain through the gears. If I would have rode it with out threading the chain properly, the chain would have jammed and probably broken the derailer. This was an obvious error and makes me wonder who put the bike's rear chain assembly together and where was the quality control.

After spending a couple hours assembling and fixing everything the bike performed well. The seating position and swept-back handlebars made for a very comfortable ride. It is stylish and the price was very good. If you are handy or are willing to take the bike to a shop for the initial setup I would recommend this ride.

        Polaris 600RR Womens Mountain Bike
I ordered this bike for my wife and it's a good one for the price. It's sturdy and easy to put together, however the front gear shift broke while I was adjusting it. I've ordered a new one and she can ride it in the meantime with just the rear gears, but even those are temperamental until I can adjust the front one. I put on a rear kickstand as the center stand seemed to get in the way a lot. Also, this frame is most suited for a taller female.

I'm a 32 year old male who bought this bike as my first effort to try out road biking. So far I have put about 1000 miles on the bike in the three months that I have owned it and now feel the need to give a full review of my experience with this bike so far. For you information, I purchased the 57cm bike, am exactly 6'0" tall, and weigh about 200 lbs.

First, I would like to address some common things that come up in the other reviews of this bike. There is much misinformation with regards to the right pedal making a clicking noise at the top of the pedal rotation. One reviewer, claiming to be a bike mechanic, has stated that the problem is due to a faulty crank. I'm an auto mechanic, not a bike mechanic, but I'm quite certain the problem has nothing to do with the crank. I have fixed and reduplicated the problem four times now to be certain that I have pinpointed the problem accurately. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PEDAL NEEDS TO BE TIGHTENED MORE TIGHTLY THAN YOU MIGHT INITIALLY THINK. If you happen to own a torque wrench, as I do, you should apply about 40 ft/lbs of torque when tightening the right pedal. If you don't own such a tool, just tighten it with quite a bit of force. In my experience, that will completely eliminate the 'clicking' problem with the right pedal. You might as well tighten the left one a little tighter while you are at it.

Some reviewers are unhappy with the brakes. As I have said above, this is my first jump into road biking and so perhaps it is because I don't know any different, but I have found the brakes to be perfectly capable of stopping me whenever I have needed. I have had to stop very quickly (a deer ran right in front of me the other day) and much of the terrain I cycle on has very steep hills. I have never had a problem with the brakes being inadequate. Yes, they needed a little adjusting at first, but I have not had to mess with them since after the first day of use.

Before I forget, I should warn anyone buying this bike that EVERY SINGLE NUT AND BOLT ON THIS BIKE NEEDS TO BE TIGHTENED WHEN YOU GET IT. I thoroughly went through the entire bike and found that several of the hex-nuts were slightly loose as were some of the other fittings as well. Be safe and take the time to tighten everything well.

Perhaps the seat is hard and not ergonomic compared to others ones, but to be honest the discomfort was only noticeable during my first few longer rides. I am currently cycling about 30 miles a day, four to five times a week and the seat has been perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned. Some of the other reviewers seem to forget that this bike cost them close to $200 and not $1000 like most of the bikes I was looking at in my local bike shops. For the price, this seat is perfectly fine with me. I purchased the Pearl Izumi biking shorts on Amazon and they provide a little added comfort.

The tubes that these tires come with are total crap. Other reviewers have also said the tubes are awful; they are absolutely right. After the first two days of use and repeated blow outs and flats, I replaced the original tubes with Avenir Schrader 48mm Valve Tubes (700 x 28-32C), which can be purchased right on Amazon, and so far I have not had a single flat or blow out. I weigh just around 200lbs and have been putting exactly 105 psi in them without any problems so far. I check the pressure before every trip and must admit that I usually need to put about 5-10 psi in it each time; in other words, the tubes do seem to slowly leak over time. I'm a novice and don't know if this is typical of other bikes or not, but I don't really mind filling them up each time. I should also mention that, just to be safe, I also purchased rim tape at the time I put in the Avenir tubes. There were a few rough spots on the rim that the tape helped cover.

In conclusion, I am completely satisfied with this bike for the price. The single speed makes me work my butt off on the big hills, which gives me a good burn, a good interval workout, and has so far made my weight drop in the last few months from 210 pounds to just under 200. I was hesitant about buying a single speed because the main bike trail I ride on here in Nashville is full of hills and steep inclines. So far I have been able to ride up every hill I have encountered without needing to get off and walk the bike. I'm rather happy I didn't pay the extra money for a bike with gears, which would have been more maintenance (especially the cheap ones I was looking at). For the money, I think this bike is an excellent buy for anyone thinking of trying out the sport for their first time. I plan to ride this bike to death over the next year or so and then think of getting something a little nicer. But for now, this is holding up just fine and is helping me achieve my fitness goals with a lot more fun and enjoyment than I had anticipated. I hope this review is helpful to someone.

All in all, for being a cheap bike, it works great.

I biked a lot when I was a kid, but when I was in high school I pretty much drove everywhere. I now go to university in a very biking-oriented city, and needed to purchase an adult bike. Since I've put the bike together, it's served me well and I've used it daily for commuting without too many mishaps.

The one problem I've had with the bike, which actually may be due more to my shoddy assembly than its actual quality, is that from time to time, certain pieces of the bike come loose. After it happened a few times, I bought a foldable set of allen wrenches to keep in my backpack and when it happens now, I just stop for a second and tighten whatever's loose. It sounds like a bigger problem than it is-- most people check their tires and brakes before they ride anyway; I just have to take a little more time to check for loose bolts.

This bike is great for any adult on a budget who needs to commute across town. Its few problems make you learn about bike maintenance, which is useful knowledge to have.
