It came in pieces and assembly was easier than I thought it was going to be. I've never assembled a bike but I have lots of assembly experience with large power tools, grills and other common items. If you're not used to putting together your own things, this may be challenging but the instructions are easily enough to follow.
This is a great bike. I bought it for my 13 year old son for Christmas and was blown away by the quality, considering the price. My only gripes are the seat adjustment and the gear changes. The seat needs a hex tool to adjust, and while that isn't uncommon, I would've preferred a quick lever but I knew this before ordering so it wasn't surprising. The gear changes can be noisy and the handle bar gear controls don't feel quite as solid as they could. Still, if I had to list all the things I love about this bike it would be a much longer list than the minor complaints.
This bike is light, rugged, has great breaks and my son finds it comfortable. The suspension preforms well beyond what I was expecting at this price and I couldn't be happier. I did a lot of comparison shopping before settling on this bike and I'm very happy I chose this bike. (note: I was originally planing on ordering it here but it sold out by the time I settled on this bike model so I had to order it from a different retailer.)
